Fortnite Air Royale

Fortnite, the popular Battle Royale game, has always been known for its innovative and exciting game modes. One such mode that took the Fortnite community by storm was the Limited Time Mode (LTM) called Air Royale. Introduced on April 17, 2019, this mode offered a unique twist to the traditional Fortnite gameplay, taking the battle to the skies.

What was Fortnite Air Royale?

In Air Royale, players climbed aboard an X-4 Stormwing, a plane introduced specifically for this mode, and engaged in thrilling aerial dogfights. The objective was simple: be the last plane flying. Unlike the standard Battle Royale mode, there was no Battle Bus in Air Royale. Instead, players started the game already in their planes.

The rules were straightforward but challenging. Each plane started with three lives, and players would respawn until they lost their plane’s last life. If a player landed on the ground, they were instantly eliminated. The game mode was a Duos-only mode, meaning you had to team up with a partner to participate.

When was it available?

Air Royale was available from April 17th, 2019 to April 24th, 2019. It has made a few comebacks since then, with the most recent one being in 2020 during the Operation Snowdown event. However, as of today, the mode is not currently available in the standard game rotation.

Can I play Air Royale today?

While the Air Royale mode is not currently available in the standard game rotation, players can still experience it through Fortnite’s Creative mode. By entering specific map codes, such as Freaky Flights Air Royale 4839-4130-3813 by senix or Air Royale 4123-3453-3260 by zcwc, players can revisit the high-flying action of Air Royale.

Which vehicles were part of Air Royale?

The primary vehicle in Air Royale was the X-4 Stormwing. This plane was equipped with a built-in turret for shooting down enemy planes and collecting special attacks from various colored rings around the map.

What were the rewards?

The Air Royale mode came with its own set of challenges that players could complete to earn rewards. These challenges ranged from dealing damage to opposing Stormwings with specific weapons to collecting different rarities of Sky Chests as a pilot. Completing these challenges rewarded players with Season XP and unique Wraps, which are cosmetic items used to customize the appearance of weapons and vehicles in the game.

Fortnite’s Air Royale mode offered a unique and thrilling twist to the traditional Battle Royale gameplay. Although it’s not currently available in the standard game rotation, players can still experience the high-flying action through Fortnite’s Creative mode. So, if you’re a fan of aerial dogfights and fast-paced gameplay, keep an eye out for the return of this fan-favorite mode.
