The Fortnite Mounted Turret is a unique trap that functions as a vehicle. It was introduced in Season 6 and was a Legendary trap item in Battle Royale. It is a turret machine that can be only placed on floors and has unlimited ammo, but will overheat if fired too often. Once placed, it can be used by any player regardless of team affiliation and can be also damaged by shooting it directly or by destroying the structural support. The Mounted Turret was vaulted on Patch 10.00, making it currently only available in Playground and Creative.
Functionality
The Mounted Turret is a unique trap that functions as a vehicle. When placed a tile will be created for the turret, or it will take up an existing floor tile. The player can interact with the turret to control it. Whilst it is controlled, the player can shoot, turn 360° and exit the turret. It has one seat. The Turret shoots hitscan bullets at a fast fire rate, but will overheat if fired for too long, like the Minigun. After this cooldown period is waited out, the turret can fire again. Opponents can destroy the turret by either damaging it enough, or destroying the supporting structure. The tile it is placed on cannot be destroyed, unless the rest of a structure is. Once placed, it can be used by any player regardless of team affiliation.
Stats
The Mounted Turret deals 40 damage per shot (280 Damage Per Second). It has a 1.5x critical hit multiplier. It has 1000 HP.
Availability
Mounted Turret has a chance to appear among other utility items and consumables per loot sources in the following circumstances:
Mounted Turret can be dropped by zombies in the Storm King LTM.
Mounted Turret has a chance to appear among all utility items and consumables.
Strategy Guide
When using the Mounted Turret, players are very vulnerable as it is a stationary object that opponents can easily shoot at. To protect angles which they are not firing at, players can build a small shelter.
